Travelers from Israel, South Korea and Malta will from Monday 20th December, 2021 be denied temporal entry into Ghana, government officials have announced.
The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in separate statements to officially communicate the ban said government’s decision is informed by the widespread of the Omicron variant of COVIV-19 in the affected countries.
The ministry further explained that apart from concerns of widespread of the new wave of the virus in these countries, Covid-19 vaccine certificate from Malta in particular cannot be authenticated in Ghana.
While the ministry did not detailed the time line of the restriction on Malta, it was clear on a 14 day temporal ban for South Korea and Israel respectively.

The statement indicated that, emergency arrivals from Israel will be permitted into the country subject to careful considerations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The ministry therefore urged travelers from the affected nations to take note of the directive and comply accordingly.
