The Ghana Cocobod is set to honor one Mohamed Anchala for pioneering the first ever cocoa cultivation venture on Northern region soil.

The Deputy Chief Executive of Ghana Cocobod in charge of Agronomy & Quality Control, Dr Francis Baah said Mohammed Anchala will be honoured with the “Best Innovation Farmer Award” at the upcoming 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration in Ho in the Volta region.
Dr. Francis Baah, made the announcement when he visited the record breaking two(2) and half acre cocoa farm located at Jahinfo Ya in Bimbilla in the Nanumba North District of the Northern Region together with a team of Cocobod scientists.
The Deputy CEO and the Cocobod team highly celebrated Mohammed Anchala for pioneering the first successful cocoa cultivation on Nanumba North soil – an innovation that has inspired new hope in the country’s cocoa business geographically.
According to Mr Mohammed Anchala, he harvested three bags of Cocoa beans during the 2024/2025 crop season and is optimistic that his yield will increase for the 2025/2026 crop season.
Dr. Francis Baah assured that COCOBOD will deploy extension officers to support Anchala with key Productivity Enhancement Programmes (PEPs) and Good Agronomic Practices (GAPs) to boost production and ensure farm sustainability.
The delegation presented cartons of cocoa products and a cash prize to in recognition of Mr Anchala’s hard work, dedication, and historic contribution to cocoa production in Ghana.
