The African University College of Communications (AUCC) has received a Presidential assent to run as a fully-fledged autonomous University in Ghana.
Having secured the presidential charter, the University now becomes known as African University of Communications and Business (AUCB).
Management of the the University said the journey to this new status was made possible through years of invaluable mentorship and guidance from the various universities across the country.
These include the University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, University of Education, Winneba, as well as Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, and Ministry of Education.
Leadership of the college now a university, extended heartfelt gratitude to these esteemed institutions for their unwavering support.
Management of the university said the its new status aligns with the University’s mission to provide world-class education and professional development opportunities that combine excellence in communication and media studies with robust industry and technology-oriented programs in business and entrepreneurship within a Pan African context.
As a Chartered University, AUCB reaffirmed its commitment to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the present evolving economic and social landscapes.
The African University of Communications and Business on the occasion invites all its Internal and External Stakeholders to join the university in celebrating the significant milestone as the school continues to build a legacy of academic excellence and societal impact.
The University was established in 2002 as a private tertiary institution by Honorable Kojo Yankah.
The school then known as the African Institute of Journalism and Communications (AIJC) is the first Journalism and Communication school in Africa.
In 2010, the institution broadened its academic programs with the establishment of School of Business, which was later renamed the Sam E. Jonah School of Business in 2014.
The African University College of Communications (AUCC) now African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) has nurtured and educated numerous prominent figures in Ghana’s communication, media, and business sectors.
