The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu this morning joined the Minister for Transport Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, and other sector stakeholders during the ministry’s 2025 Mid-Year Strategic Review in the Volta Regional capital Ho.
Addressing the gathering, honorable James Gunu pointed out that transportion goes beyond just the moment of people and goods from one destination to another.
The regional minister indicated that transportation is a key driver to socio-economic growth and development of every community and society at large.
He further noted that the sector plays a major role in national food security, and job creation.
Hon. James Gunu said the ongoing transport sector reforms is a great sigh of relief to the people of the Volta Region in particular and the country as a whole.
According to the minister, the recent improvements in road, air, and water transport systems are not just infrastructure development, but a true lifelines that connect farmers, traders, communities and businesses to greater life opportunities.
Hon. James Gunu on this note reiterated the need as a country to develop a more robust and global standard transport system that is community inclusive, and directly supports Ghana’s broader development agenda.
The transport minister Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe said the transport sector has a major role to play in the implementation of the government’s flagship 24 Hour Economic programs and policies.
Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe gave the assurance that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s government is committed to providing a resilient road, air and water transportation systems that respond to the development needs of every community in the country.
