Leadership of the Ashanti regional secretariat of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has began vetting of applicants for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) positions.
The exercise which commenced yesterday 16th January at the party’s regional secretariat is expected to end on Sunday 20th January, 2025.
A total of 342 applicants including 28 females from the 42 MMDAs in the region submitted applications for the various decentralized assemblies posts.
The Ashanti regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Andrew Augustus Nana Akwesi is the chair person of the ongoing Ashanti regional vetting committee.
Other members of the committee include the regional secretary of the party, Dr. Frank Amoakohene and some national executives who are supervising the entire vetting process.
