The 2022 Green Edition of the Ghana Job Fair is under the theme: Connecting Talents and Opportunities.

This year’s edition was organized by a Consortium made up of the GGC, the Youth and Employment Agency and the Ministry for Employment and Labor Relations.

Ghana government in collaboration with its German counterpart use the annual event to access the current youth unemployment situation in the Ghana and find solution to the menace.

The 2022 Green Edition of the fair seeks to challenge the youth to identify opportunities in environmental initiatives to create meaningful and sustainable jobs for themselves and peers.

A release issued by the event organizers said, the Ghana Job Fair in general seeks to build the employability of job seekers, particularly the youth in an ever-transforming employment space.

“This year’s ‘Green Edition’ aims to promote sustainable jobs in Ghana. We also aim to establish networking between job seekers and industry players by highlighting the Government of Ghana’s employment efforts to stakeholders,” the release stated.

The Minister for Employment and Labor Relations, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah said the government through the Green Jobs Strategy aims to create decent and sustainable job opportunities for the youth in Ghana.

He acknowledged the level of commitment and cooperation from GIZ towards the subject of unemployment and job creation in the country.

“We appreciate the cooperation that exists between the Ministry of Employment and Labor relations and the GIZ over the years. Our collaboration has contributed immensely to the realization of development objectives of the two countries in the areas of employment promotion and sustainable development,” the Minister stressed.

Head of the Ghanaian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration-GIZ Ghana, Benjamin Woesten noted the German Government contributes to employment in Ghana to help reduce dangerous migration among the youth in Ghana.

Speaking at the Kumasi event, the Senior National Programme Migration Coordinator at GIZ, David Yaw-Mensah Tette disclosed that the GIZ and its partners are working to link job seekers with available opportunities in the country.

He encouraged participants, especially graduates to continue engaging with the Centre after the fair for the needed assistance and support.
