Leader of the South African opposition party has called for the resignation of the the country’s President over money laundering allegations.
The vociferous Economic Freedom Fighters’ President Julius Malema is demanding Mr.Cyril Ramaphosa steps down to allow investigations into money laundering allegations levelled against him.
President Ramaphosa is reported to have compromised in a burglary scandal in his own Phala Phala farm.
Julius Malema on Tuesday when addressing journalists alleged the President had failed to prove his innocence in the scandal.
He stressed Mr Ramaphosa has breached the trust worthy of a South Africa President.

Mr Malema said President Cryril Ramaphosa must exit political office with immediate effect since he has disrespected his oath of office.
The EFF leader argued that Mr Ramaphosa must suffer the same fate as Jacob Zuma since South Africans gave him the chance to prove his innocence but failed.
“We gave Cyril Ramaphosa a chance to prove himself” he pointed.
“Fellow South Africans, he has failed dismally. We will treat him the same way we treated Zuma. He must leave the office with immediate effect because he has not respected his own oath of office.” Malema further observed.
Mr Ramaphosa, 69 has suffered credibility criss over the past week ahead of his party’s 2024 flagbearership elections.
His candidature has been dainted following accusations of silencing burglars who discovered large sum of cash in his farm.
The Economic Freedom Fighters leader told journalists he is not surprised Mr Ramaphosa failed to report to the South African Police Service about the 60 million dollars stolen from his property.
He alleges the President uses his game farm for illicit financial deals including money laundering hence his failure to report on the missing cash to authorities.
“It is not surprising that 60 million cash in dollar bills was stolen from Cryril Ramaphosa’s property and was not reported to the South African Police. Because criminals do not report crimes when their proceeds of crime are stolen”, he alleged.
In February 2020, robbers allegedly broke into President Ramaphosa’s farm and made away with huge dollar bills stuffed in furniture in the property.
Former South African Intelligence Chief, Arthur Fraser later filed a complaint accusing Mr Ramaphosa of concealing the theft from authorities.
According to Fraser, he has provided authorities with evidence suggesting that the President is obstructing justice.
He said he provided the police with photos, bank accounts with names and videos that the President organized for the suspects to be kidnapped, interrogated on his property and paid them for their silence on the subject.
Mr Ramaphosa has since disputed the said amount, yet admitts he receives either direct cash or transfers for his animal trade.
