Kevin Samuels, a famous African-American You Tuber with over 1.4 million followers has been confirmed dead.

The news of his departure started trending on social media on Thursday.

Kevin Samuels was popular on You Tube for his views on dating and relationships.

Kevin’s mother, Beverly Samuels-Burch who confirmed the death refused to disclose what killed her son.

She said she also learnt of her son’s demise on social media.

Confirming the news to NBC News on phone, Beverly said she was sad to hear of her son’s death on social media.

“All am doing is requesting that people pray for us. I hadn’t even been notified. It was a terrible thing for social media to put out there”, the bereaved mother narrated.

Samuels became popular on You Tube with his controversial posts
which often generated heated controversy and public outrages.

His love and relationship views on social media were often seen as attack on women.

A woman living in the East Paces Ferry Road NE apartment where Kevin died called 911 on Thursday morning.

The Atlanta Police Department arrived at the apartment to meet emergency assistance trying to revive the 53 year old.

The woman told Atlanta Police department officers Kevin had earlier complained of chest pain.

She said she tried to help him but he fell unconscious.

The police then conveyed Samuels body to Piedmont Hospital.

A press release said the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office had performed an autopsy but the cause of Kevin’s death is yet to be made public.

Samuels is reported to have held relationship views which many, especially black women felt was attacks on them.

He was heavily criticized last month over a video that described
35 years unmarried women as “leftovers”.

“You are what is left. If you have made it to 35 and you are unmarried, you are a leftover woman”, Kevin in reportedly said.

He also featured in videos in which he classified women appearances based on looks and clothing.

Many critics said his views of ideal women based on looks and dress style were toxic and misogynistic.

Following news of his death, many critics of the self proclaimed ‘image consultant’ trooped social media to punch holes in his opinions.

One journalist said Kevin Samuels “has made a career off of shamelessly disgracing Black women for profit. Dead or alive, what a disgraceful life to live”, Ernest Owens wrote.

Musician Jean Deaux in a twitt queried whether Kevin died at 56 and unmarried.

Kevin Samuels shared You Tube videos to more than 1.4 million subscribers on many topics including love, marriage and relationships.
