Liberia President lauds World Tourism Organization over contributions to Liberian tourism

President George Weah

Liberia President, George Manneh Weah, has commended the World Tourism Organisation for its immense contributions to the development of the Liberian tourism industry. 

Mr. Weah made the commendation at the launch of Liberia’s road map to rebrand the county’s tourism potentials.  

The National Tourism Marketing and Branding Strategy was launched last month in the Liberian capital Monrovia.

President Weah in a statement during the launching of the initiative said Liberia has an enviable tourism potentials which if well harnessed can create thousands of jobs for the citizens. 

The former football icon was elated for the programming and launch of the country’s first modern tourism branding strategy.

 He said Liberians are proud of their cultural heritage and tourism diversity.

 Mr. George Weah prided that his country is blessed with over 560 kilometre stretch of coastline, green vegetation, attractive waterfalls, serene beaches, and landscapes.

The President described his country as one of the unique tourism destinations in West Africa with flora and fauna.

Dr. Weah assured that his leadership will continue to implement programs and policies that promote and sustain the industry for socio-economic growth and development. 

 President George Manneh Weah lauded his country’s Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism ministry and its allied agencies, their commitment to the initiative.
